This trail takes visitors along a one mile stretch of road that was destroyed by a magnitude 6.6 Mauna Loa earthquake in 1983. This route will take you past interesting volcanic formations that include earth cracks and views of Kilauea Caldera and Mauna Loa. The trail begins to the left of the Volcano House Hotel. It is wheelchair and stroller accessible over a paved road surface.
