Unique limestone formations and scenic waterfalls are some of the beautiful highlights at Indiana's first state park, McCormick's Creek. Visitors to the state park can enjoy a wide variety of activities and services in a beautiful and restful natural setting. Explore the park by hiking 10+ miles of well-marked trails, taking a horse ride, picnicking, or swimming at the Recreation Center.

  • Camping

    The campground is equiped with restrooms, hot water and showers. Both Electric and Primitive sites are available. In the primitive and youth camping areas no showers or modern restrooms available. The family cabins at the park accommodate a maximum of six people and has a living area, bedroom, bathroom, screened-in porch and kitchen. Cabin 7 is fully accessible. Pets are not permitted in the cabin area. The cabins are open April through October. Group campers are given the options of two group camps, Camp McCormick and Camp NaWaKwa. Each camp contains four sleeping barracks with a capacity 25 people each; a large capacity dining hall/kitchen accommodating 100 people in each camp; and modern shower house located in the center of both camps. Reservations for all camping are available through the Central Reservation System. For those preferring to stay at the park Inn, Guest rooms feature a private bath, telephone, coffee pot, hair dryer, TV and air conditioning. The restaurant is open to the public and serves three meals, seven days a week, year-round. The inn's outdoor pool is open to inn guests only. No pets allowed. Guest and meeting rooms are equipped with wireless Internet service. Reservations are available through the Inn's Reservation System.

  • Fishing

    Fishing is available on nearby White River.

  • Hiking

    There are 10.7 miles of relatively short easy to rugged trails.

  • Horseback Riding

    Trail rides and offered at the saddle barn. For reservation information, contact McCormick's Creek Stables at (812) 829-8848.

  • Picnicking

    Picnic areas include tables, grills, toilet facilities, playground equipment and playfields. In addition, McCormick's Creek has seven open shelters and four recreation buildings. Reservations for shelters are available through the Central Reservation System.

  • Tennis

    The tennis courts are lighted for night playing. They are located behind Canyon Inn.

  • Water Sports

    The park pool is open the Saturday before Memorial Day to no later than Labor Day. For swimming availability, contact the park office.
