Overview

Jaycee Park Campground is located 4 miles from the junction of Highway 191. The campground has 7 shady walk-in tent sites. The Portal Hiking Trail starts at the campground. Wall Street, a well-known climbing destination, is also very close to the campground. Campsites are available on a first-come, first served basis.

The area offers stunning red rock views with petroglyph sites nearby and great views of the Colorado River.

Activities

  • Camping

    There are 7 developed campsites with fire rings, picnic tables, and toilets. Fee is required to camp. Campsites are available on a first come first served basis. Campground often fills up early during busy season.

  • Hiking

    The Portal Hiking Trail starts at the campground. This is a 2 mile round-trip hike which leads to an overlook.

    Other hiking opportunities include hikes at Canyonlands and Arches National Parks as well as Corona Arch hike on Route 279.

  • Picnicking

    Picnic tables and fire rings are available for day and overnight use.

Extreme heat is common in summer. Freezing temperatures in winter.
