JD Dam

JD Dam lies 7 miles from Whitehorse Lake and nearby the Sycamore Point turnoff. Fishing is allowed but there is a strict catch-and-release policy. Facilities are limited to parking, and an outhouse with trash recepticals. All camping must be done outside a 1/4 mile radius of JD Dam.

There is ample opportunity to view wildlife around JD Dam. Also, nearby are the Sycamore Point scenic viewpoint, and Whitehorse Lake campground. Additional information is available at the Visitors Center or Williams Ranger District Office.
Recreation Site Information

Location: 19.5 miles south and east of Williams.

Elevation: 6458 feet

Season of Use: Late spring through late fall or as weather permits.

Facilities: Restroom, trash receptical, and Arizona Game and Fish bulletin board. Camping is not allowed within 1/4 mile of the lake.

Directions

Sedans - From Williams, turn south on Fourth Street (CR 73) about 9 miles to FR 110. Turn left on FR 110 and continue 7.5 miles to FR 109. Turn right onto FR 109 and go 2.5 miles to FR 12. Take FR 12 south (right) 4 miles to FR 110. Turn right and proceed approximately 0.1 mile to FR 105 and go .5 mile to the lake. Roads are paved and gravelled, but the last few miles may not be suitable for passenger vehicles during periods of rain or snow.

High clearance vehicles - From Williams, turn south on Fourth Street (CR 73) about 9 miles to FR 110. Turn left on FR 110 and continue 9 miles to FR 105. Turn right onto FR 105 and go .5 miles to the lake.
