Ten-X Campground

Camping in the tall pines, this quiet, peaceful location is just 4.3 miles from the entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park . Located in a beautiful ponderosa pine/Gambel oak forest on the Tusayan Ranger District, Ten-X has a self-guided nature trail and occasional weekend evening campfire programs at an outdoor amphitheater.

Location:
Ten-X Campground is located 2 miles south of Tusayan and 47 miles north of Williams on U.S. Highway 180/AZ Highway 64.

Attractions:

Facilities:
Seventy (70) spacious campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Of these sites, 18 are single car spurs and 52 are pull-through car and trailer sites. RV?s up to 40? can be accommodated. Single family sites are limited to six people per site. All roads and spurs are paved. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, barbeque grills, water, vault toilets, and trash receptacles. There are NO utility hookups, and no sewage dump station.

Larger groups/families may be accommodated in oversized sites or in the two Group Camp Sites. These campsites can be rented separately or together for larger groups of up to 150 people.

Group Campsite A accommodates up to 100 people, and has a large covered picnic pavilion, trash cans, potable water, several barbeque grills, picnic tables, benches, food preparation tables, group campfire ring, vault toilets, and tent pads.

Group Campsite B accommodates up to 50 people and has a smaller covered picnic pavilion, trash cans, potable water, barbeque grills, picnic tables, benches, group campfire ring, vault toilets, and tent pads.

Showers and sewage dump station are available at Grand Canyon Village inside Grand Canyon National Park .

Fees:
Single family Campsites: $10.00 per vehicle per night.

* Ten-X Group Campsite(s):
o Campsite A -- $125 a night; accommodates up to 75 people.
o Campsite B -- $75 a night; accommodates up to 50 people.
o Both sites (A&B) -- $200 a night; accommodates up to 125 people.

May 1 through September 30, depending on weather.

Elevation: 6,650 feet

During the summer months, temperatures normally vary from 45° F at night to 85° F during the day. Spring and fall temperatures are a little cooler, from 32° F at night to 65° F during the day. Daily thunderstorms can be expected from mid-July through most of August.

The access road and parking areas are paved. Reservations for the Group Sites are required and can be made by calling Recreation.gov at 877-444-6777 or visiting their web site at http://www.recreation.gov. All groups must check in with the campground host.

Fuelwood may be provided by a vendor in the campground. Dead and down wood may be collected outside the campground, brought back to the campsite and burned.
