Kings Canyon National Park wilderness fire still burning

A wilderness fire approaching 300 acres in size is still burning in a remote area of Kings Canyon National Park, officials reported today. Old growth and underbrush are being burned away in the slow-moving fire that was started by lightning. So far, 288 acres have been consumed, and no structures are threatened, National Park Service officials reported.
