Kanopolis State Park

Kanopolis State Park

Kanopolis State Park started it all. The first Kansas state park has drawn visitors to eastern Ellsworth County since 1955. Situated in the rolling hills, bluffs and woods of the scenic Smoky Hills region of Kansas, Kanopolis is located 33 miles southwest of Salina. Kansas’ oldest and most central park has two areas—Langley Point and Horsethief—covering more than 1,600-acres of rolling hills, bluffs, and woods. The park has a complete set of facilities: beaches, picnic areas, a full service marina, and trails for horseback riding, mountain bikes, and hiking. For permits, visit the park office gatehouses, marina or one of the self-pay stations at each park entrance. Vehicle, camping, and utility permits are required yearround. Office hours are from Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In case of emergency, contact the park office or Ellsworth County Sheriff at (785) 472-4416 A full-service marina provides fuel, slip rental, food, boating, and camping supplies, and full-time mechanic.

Anyone going to Kanopolis

Anyone going to Kanopolis should drive around the lake to the Yankee Run area. Yankee is the free side of the like and has the BEST camping sites... hands down.
