Blackwater Conservation Area
Overview
Blackwater Conservation Area, which opened on March 26, 2002, is BREC's newest nature park. It is located near the intersection of Hooper Road and Blackwater Road alongside the Comite River. Two large fishing lakes are located on 63 acres of land that has been revived with 7,000 new trees representing native species such as: baldcypress, tupelo gum, cottonwood, river birch, red mulberry, persimmon, pine and oaks.
