Overview

This 50 acre park was dedicated in May 2003 through a partnership with the Cabarrus County Parks Department and the Cabarrus County Boys & Girls Club. Camp T.N. Spencer has operated as a private summer camp since the late 1940s and it is still available to the Boys and Girls Club for their summer camp program. The park includes renovated community buildings for meetings and gatherings and a refurbished fishing pier and boardwalk. New additions to the park include a 1.5 mile walking trail, playground equipment, cabins, tent camping sites, bathhouse, paddleboats, fishing ponds, picnic sites, shelters, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts and parking lot. Cabarrus County has committed to continue to renovate the park over the next 12-14 years. A North Carolina Park and Recreation Trust Fund Grant was awarded in 2003 to assist in the development of facilities.
