Overview

Bluestem State Recreation Area offers fishing, a swimming beach, picnicking and primitive camping. The 742-acre state recreation area, is situated 2.5 miles west of Sprague. The 325-acre lake offers diverse action for anglers of all abilities. Boaters find there is easy access to the water from strategically located ramps. The 417 acres of land around the lake give hunters plenty of room to maneuver for pheasants, quail, squirrel cottontail rabbit, waterfowl and deer.

  • Boating

    Boating is allowed at Bluestem, and boaters find there is easy access to the water from strategically located ramps.

  • Camping

    Campers have up-to-date facilities, as well as drinking water, toilets and dump station. There are 19 camping pads without electricity and 200 non-pad sites without electricity

  • Fishing

    Anglers especially enjoy this 742-acre state recreation area, situated 2 l/2 miles west of Sprague. The 325-acre lake offers diverse action for anglers of all abilities. Opportunity awaits to try for largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, walleye, northern pike and wiper among others.

From Lincoln head south on Hwy 77 to Sprague Rd. Go west on Sprague Rd to the entrance (about 4 miles).
