Overview

Bowman Lake is a 23-acre area lying adjacent to the Loup River and features a 20-acre manmade lake. Located near Loup City and Sherman Reservoir, this area offers picnicking, fishing and primitive camping.

Activities

  • Boating

    Access to the lake is granted to electric motor, non-powered boats. Other boaters can launch into the Loup River.

  • Camping

    There are ten non-pad sites without electricity available for campers as well as potable water.

  • Fishing

    Fishing is a popular pastime at Bowman Lake State Recreation Area. Young and old anglers alike are likely to catch a bounty of fish in the Middle Loup River.

  • Picnicking

    A picnic is a wonderful way to spend a leisurely afternoon at Bowman. Enjoy a beautiful view of the lake with lunch. A playground is available for the younger visitors.
