Cheyenne State Recreation Area
Cheyenne is a former wayside area with a 15 acre pond. The area offers fishing, camping and picnicking. There are no designated campsites; however, it is a small unstaffed area that can accomodate about eight non- electrical tent sites with a modern restroom that are all first-come, first-served. Camp fires are permitted in designated fire rings. Come enjoy the beauty and serenity that is Cheyenne State Recreation Area.
Both power and non-power boats are allowed on the pond, but there is currently no boat ramp available.
Camping at Cheyenne State Recreation Area is primitive. There are eight non-pad sites without electricity, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are eight picnic tables and six grills available at the park, in three shelters
The park is located off Wood River Interchange, Interstate 80, Exit 300.
