Overview
Rock Creek State Recreation Area is a 50-acre lake on Rock Creek with 54 acres of land. This area offers camping, hiking, boating, fishing and picnicking. There are non-designated campsites available.
The area offers primitive camping and there are 43 non-pad sites available. Electric motor and non-powered boats and anglers can take advantage of the opportunities the lake has to offer.
Rock Creek State Fish Hatchery is located in southwest Nebraska, 2.5 miles north of the SRA at the headwaters of Rock Creek. Founded at its current location in 1924 because of the abundant cold water spring flow, it is one of five state fish hatcheries operated by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Activities
Boating
A boat ramp and dock near the south end of the pond provide access. Only electric motored and non-powered boats are permitted.
Camping
Camping at Rock Creek Lake SRA is primitive. There are 43 non-pad sites without electricity. Although there is a hand pump hydrant, the area has no modern restrooms, showers, or dump station.
Fishing
Anglers may enjoy fishing in the pond located within the recreation area.
Hiking
No hiking trails are available.
Picnicking
The area offers some playground equipment, including swings. There are also 21 picnic tables and 16 grills available for visitors to enjoy.
Directions
Driving
From Enders, travel southeast on US-6/NE-61 toward NE-61 for 1.6 miles, keep right at the fork to continue on NE-61. Travel for 2.4 miles, turn right onto 338 Ave and continue another 1.6 miles to reach the area.
