Overview

Wagon Train State Recreation Area is a 315-acre watershed impoundment with 746 acres of land offering opportunities for boating, fishing, picnicking, and a swimming beach. The area has a boat ramp and dock for both motorized and non-motorized boats to access the water. Wagon Train State Recreation Area has plenty of picnic tables and grills for visitors to use for a scenic outdoor meal, as well as three picnic shelters. There is a swimming beach as well. There are both hiking and mountain biking trails to explore winding through Wagon Train State Recreation Area.

For those staying overnight, there is a campsite with many amenities. There are 28 camping pads with electrical hookups, access to drinking water, and an RV sanitation station for visitors. Campsites are non-reservable, so visitors can find a place to stay on those spur of the moment outdoor adventures. There are also 80 non-pad sites without electricity for the less complicated style of tent camping.
