Overview
Set at the very top of Mt. Prospect in Lancaster, New Hampshire, the John Wingate Weeks Historic Site's house and grounds provide a 360-degree panorama of mountain splendor, including the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the Kilkenny Range, the Percy Peaks, and the upper Connecticut River Valley. The 420-acre estate was built at the direction of John Wingate Weeks, leading conservationist, U.S. congressman, U.S. senator, and Secretary of War under Presidents Harding and Coolidge. The estate was given to the state of New Hampshire in 1941 by John Weeks' children, Katherine Weeks Davidge and Sinclair Weeks.
Popular with visitors to the John Wingate Weeks Historic Site are taking a scenic drive up to the summit of Mt. Prospect, hiking, picnicking, and touring the Weeks house and grounds. There are picnic tables to enjoy lunch outside. Parking is available. This historic site is always open for recreation, and pets are permitted.

Directions
Driving
From I-93: Take Exit 35 onto Route 3. Follow Route 3 through Whitefield. John Wingate Weeks Historic Site will be on the right at the topof the long uphill grade.
From I-95: Take Route 16 to Route 2 to Lancaster. Take Route 3 south, John Wingate Weeks Historic Site will be on left.
