Getting There

Bluewater Lake State Park is 28 miles west of Grants via I-40 and NM 412.

Park Hours

Summer (March 1 - October 31): 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Winter (November 1 - April 31): 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Bluewater Lake State Park is situated on the north flank of the Zuni Mountains in the Las Tusas Basin. The reservoir, located in a valley carved in shale and limestone, is stocked with trout and catfish, making it a popular location for boating and year-round fishing. Camping is allowed around the lake on a first come, first-served basis.
