Friends of Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park

The Friends of Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park is a nonprofit organization that aims to restore and preserve the park. Its goals are:

Restoration and preservation: restore the wildlife and native plant communities in those areas where they have been damaged or displaced by human activities and invasive species, as well as to protect any natural environment remnants and any cultural resources.

Outdoor recreation: attract those drawn to the outdoors — for example, birders, native plant enthusiasts, hikers, sportsmen and wildlife photographers.

Education: enrich the knowledge of adults and children about the wildlife and native plant communities along the Rio Grande, teaching them about the crucial importance of our environment.
