Augusta Nature Education Center

Operating since early in the 1960's, the Augusta Nature Education Center has been providing Augusta area residents and visitors with a unique and free opportunity to understand and enjoy Maine's plants and wildlife in a beautiful natural setting, all within minutes of downtown Augusta along Whitney Brook. The Center is open to everyone 365 days a year during daylight hours. When you visit our Center you will find nearly 5 miles of trail that wind throughout 175 acres of meadow and forest revealing historic granite quarries, small waterfalls, quiet lily ponds, active beaver ponds, and other flowers and wildlife that are native to Maine. It is important to note that the Center does not permit motorized vehicles of any kind at any time.
