Newhalem Creek Trail

This trail begins behind the Newhalem Campground and leads four and a half miles southward along Newhalem Creek. It is an easy trail with little elevation gain. The trail has not been maintained by the Park Service of late so ask at the visitor center about the condition of the trail.

Begin the hike by driving toward the visitor center in Newhalem. A short distance before you reach the visitor center you'll see a gravel road that bears to the right and a sign that directs hikers toward Newhalem Creek Trail. Turn right here and follow the gravel road to its end. Park your vehicle and follow the road beyond the gate. This road eventually narrows into the Newhalem Creek Trail.
