Overview

Macomb Reservation State Park lies just outside the Adirondack Park along the Salmon River's course toward Lake Champlain. Surrounded by state land, the park has a wilderness atmosphere. Visitors can use non-motorized boats and fish in Davis pond or the Salmon River. The park has playing fields, a picnic area, a self-guided nature trail, a hiking trail, electric and non-electric wooded campsites. Winter activities include ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Activities

  • Boating

    Visitors can use non-motorized boats and fish in Davis pond or the Salmon River. Boat rentals are available in the park.

  • Camping

    There are several electric and non-electric wooded campsites. Activities for campers include hiking, a nature trail, picnic shelter and pavilions, a children's playground, open play areas, and recreation programs. Camping facilities include showers and a camper assistance programs. Campsites and cabins are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

  • Fishing

    Visitors can fish in Davis pond or the Salmon River.

  • Hiking

    The park is nestled in woodlands with relaxing nature trails open for hiking during the summer months.

  • Picnicking

    Picnic facilities include tables and grills, pavilions, and playgrounds and playing fields. Macomb Reservation State Park also has recreation programs for campers and visitors to participate in. Pets are not permitted in picnic areas.

  • RVing

    There are accessible tent and trailer sites (some with electricity, some without) with nearby showers and dumping stations. The park gives visitors the opportunity to use playgrounds

  • Water Sports

    Visitors can swim in man-made Davis Pond, use non-motorized boats and fish in the pond or the Salmon River. The park is open from early May until Labor Day for these activities.

  • Winter Sports

    The park is available for cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing and snowmobiling during the winter months.
