
Max V. Shaul State Park
Overview
Max V. Shaul State Park is a small, quiet camping area with 30 wooded tent and trailer sites. The park has shady picnic grounds, as well as playing fields and a playground. There is a nature and hiking trail, fishing is allowed in Panther Creek and winter visitors can cross-country ski. Also, a car top boat/fishing access trail to the Schoharie Creek was established in 2011.
There is free access for campers to Mine Kill State Park to enjoy the beautiful Blenheim-Gilboa Reservoir, Mine Kill Falls, and miles of trails. Minekill State Park has an Olympic size pool, wading pool and a diving pool available at no cost to campers with a valid camping permit.

Camping
Max V. Shaul State Park has a small, quiet camping area with 29 wooded tent and trailer sites. Its a great place to relax with your family around a campfire or let the kids run around on the playground. There is a camper assistance programs as well as accessible showers to make your trip more enjoyable. Camp grounds are open on Memorial Day Weekend and from early July until Labor Day Weekend. Household pets are permitted.
Fishing
Fishing is allowed in Panther Creek.
Hiking
This small park sits among the rolling hills of the historic Leatherstocking region, just north of the Catskills. The nature and hiking trails follow the gentle slopes of the hills making for an easy afternoon hike. The park is open to hikers year round.
Picnicking
Max V. Shaul State Park is a great place to enjoy shady picnicking, several trails, and watching children play at the playground. Facilities include public restrooms and picnic pavilions. Pavilions are available from Memorial Day until Columbus Day. Picnic grounds are open year round. Household pets are permitted.
Winter Sports
Winter visitors can cross-country ski and hike on the multi-use trails.

The park is located in the Schoharie Valley along Route 30, approximately 6 miles south of Middleburgh at the base of Toepath Mountain.
