Arrowhead is a beautiful 2200-acre state park, located on a peninsula of Lake Eufaula, which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the Southwest. The lake offers boating, swimming and extensive fishing opportunities and tournaments. Arrowhead State Park features 100 tent sites and 91 different RV sites, of which 40 are full hookup sites. The park also offers picnic shelters, a marina, playgrounds, hiking trails, a miniature golf course, a swimming area, and mountain biking. Horseback riders will love the park's convenient equestrian campground, stables, and 25 miles of equestrian trails. The park also contains the Arrowhead Golf Course, which is an 18-hole course with a putting green, driving range, and pro shop. Several group camps with a kitchen and bunkhouses are available for reservations and can sleep up to 144 people. The Area 51 Marina, which also offers a restaurant, is also conveniently located at the park in the Echo Ridge area.

  • Boating

    Lake Eufaula is one of the largest man-made lakes in the Southwest and offers extensive boating opportunities. Facilities include marinas, boat ramps, swim beaches, and an enclosed fishing dock.

  • Camping

    Arrowhead State Park features 100 tent sites and 91 total RV sites. There are 40 full hookup sites available. Group camps with a kitchen and bunkhouses are available and can sleep up to 144 people. Some sites close during the winter, so call the park for availability before showing up.

  • Fishing

    A well-known tournament lake, Lake Eufaula draws anglers from across the United States to test their skills at catching largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, Kentucky bass, crappie, catfish, sandbass, stripers (below the dam), and other species.

  • Golfing

    Overlooking beautiful Lake Eufaula on a hill, the views from the Arrowhead State Park Golf Course are magnificent. This 18-hole, par 72 course offers bent grass greens, Bermuda grass tees and fairways, lake views, minimal water hazards and well-placed sand bunkers. Facilities include a putting green, driving range and pro shop with cart and club rentals, snacks and drinks. Driving range golf clinic and private or group lessons are available.

  • Hiking

    Nature trails not only offer hiking, but also provide a setting for watchable wildlife.

  • Horseback Riding

    An equestrian campground, stables and 25 miles of equestrian trails are available at Arrowhead State Park.

  • Picnicking

    Picnic areas and covered picnic shelters are scattered throughout the area.

  • RVing

    Many campsites at Arrowhead State Park offer electrical hookups, and an RV dump station is also available.

  • Water Sports

    A pleasant swimming beach is conveniently located near the park's campgrounds.


Turkey Flat and Echo Ridge campgrounds and comfort stations remain open year-round, and while the comfort stations in the equestrian campground are closed in the winter, the area remains open for primitive camping.



State Park Road is located 18 miles north of McAlester on Highway 69, and Arrowhead State Park itself is located four miles east on State Park Road.
