Red Fir Nature Trail
at 7,100 feet in elevation, the trail head is located on the dirt road leading to Mills Peak Lookout. An easy dirt trail leads 0.5 miles past informative signs interpreting the ecosystem occurring in a red fir stand.
Directions from Graeagle: Travel south on Hwy. #89 for approximately 1.5 miles and turn right onto Primary Forest Route #24. Travel this road for approximately 7 miles and turn right onto County Road #721. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile and turn left onto the road to Mills Peak. The trailhead for the Red Fir Nature Trail is on this road. Trailhead T.21N., R.12E., Section 10.
