Giant Sequoias only grow in California, and there are between 65 and 77 groves throughout the Western Sierra Mountains. The four main places where you can view them are Sequoia National Forest (http://www.ohranger.com/sequoia-natl-forest-giant-sequoia), Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks (http://www.ohranger.com/sequoia-kings-canyon), Yosemite National Park (http://www.ohranger.com/yosemite) and the Lake Tahoe region.
Giant Sequoias are sometimes confused with Coast Redwoods, which also grow in California. These trees grow along the California coast from just north of Monterey all the way to the northern border of the state. For information about identifying Giant Sequoias and Coast Redwoods, visit www.savetheredwoods.org.
