Yes, the Deer Park Road in Olympic National Park is currently open (jul 3 2009). The road is typically open between June 11 and Sept 30, weather permitting. The road is 9 miles long, and is gravelly, narrow and winding. It is also steep in places. If you do not like heights, it isn't worth driving on this road. Also, because of the narrow and winding nature of the road, RVs and trailers are not permitted. If you are looking for a more traveled, wider, and easier to manage road, you might also consider the very popular drive to Hurricane Ridge. Both roads lead to high vantage points in the parks, with terrific views of the Olympic mountain range. You can always get the most up to date road conditions from the park hotline : 360-565-3131
