The drive from Maswik Lodge to South Kaibab Trail is about 10 minutes, while the walk is about an hour and a half. For both walking and driving direction click here. For further information contact the park at (928) 638-7888. Enjoy your trip and be sure to come back to OhRanger.com and post pictures!

The Grand Canyon also has a great shuttle bus system if you prefer not to drive and the walk is too long for you. (If you get a good parking spot, you may not want to move your car.) There is a stop on the Village Route at the Lodge, then you transfer to a bus on the Kaibab Trail Route and you'll be dropped off at the trail head.  You do need to allow some time but if you would prefer to let someone else do the driving, this is the way to go.  When you get to the park, you will be given information that includes the bus route map and schedule or just ask at any of the information desks.
