Arcadia State Park
Overview
The Arcadia Management Area is the State's largest, with more than 14,000 mostly forested acres offering users a great variety of opportunities for guests to enjoy outdoor recreation. Co-managed by DEM's Divisions of Forest Environment and Fish & Wildlife, the park is managed for hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and other forms of outdoor enjoyment.

Camping
Camping for "walk in" guests is available, by permit, at the "Backpack Area", and a shelter is available for overnight rental at the Frosty Hollow Pond Recreation area.
Fishing
Fishing is permitted in Breakheart Pond. Those under 14 years of age are encouraged to fish for trout in the stocked Frosty Hollow Pond, which includes a handicapped accessible fishing platform. Flowing through the heart of the Management Area is the Wood River, also stocked with trout and offers great freshwater fishing experiences available in the state for anglers. Some parts of the river are available to fly fisherman only, and others are "catch and release" only.
Hiking
Hikers are encouraged to take advantage of the miles of gravel roads and well marked and maintained trails.
Horseback Riding
Hiking trails are often used by horseback riders. In effect, users must act responsibly, be courteous, and "share the road".
Hunting
"Multiple use" management principles apply to this park.
Picnicking
Picnicking is encouraged. Please do not litter.
RVing
Groups of 10 to 75 guests require a Special Use Permit before they enjoy the area. Groups of 75 or more need a Special Event Permit. Contact the Arcadia Management Area Headquarters for permit applications.
