Things To Do

Route 1 extends almost the entire length of California. Californians refer to it as the "scenic route" when traveling long distances north and south through the state. Epic, stunning views can be seen at many vistas along the way. When passing through the Big Sur region the highway is narrow and winding, yet perhaps provides the best views of the Pacific Ocean of the entire highway. Traveling south from Big Sur you'll stumble upon San Simeon where elephant seals annually cover the shoreline. Hearst Castle is also a popular attraction as you head south on Route 1. Do your research before traveling Route 1 as there are endless historic and natural fascinating places to stop along the way.
