Overview

Nestled in Hampton County, the 440-acre Lake Warren State Park is a boating and fishing haven. Nature lovers can find all kinds of things to take advantage of here. Besides from fishing and boating, the Park has a community building that hosts meetings. As for natural highlights, The Hampton County park has a floodplain forest where you can find four species of pines. There are other large tracts of wetlands and woodlands where a large range of plants and animals make their home. Such flora and fauna include whitetail deer, raccoons, wild turkeys, migratory songbirds, armadillos and American alligators. Aside from its 200-acre lake, Lake Warren State Park also hosts a small pond and playground equipment for the kids. As for interpretive Trails, the Yemassee Nature Trail is popular for being a short, easy, yet scenic walk. The interpretive trail is one mile long. Make this natural haven your next destination!

From Hampton: Travel on Hwy 601 S. for 5 mi.. Turn rt onto Lake Warren Rd. Drive one mile, the park entrance is on the left.
