Overview
Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is an absolute must-see for American History buffs! The site lies in the peaceful Piedmont woods, yet do not let the location fool you. It was actually the location of the bloody struggle waged there on August 19th, 1780, during the Revolutionary War. The visitor center has a plethora of interpretive exhibits which give details on the Battle of Musgrove Mill and describe the pivotal role that South Carolina had in the Revolutionary War. For those who would prefer something more on the natural side, the park also offers picnicking and a freshwater fishing pond. The Historic Site is found just off Interstate 26 near Clinton, and is easy to get to. Here you will find regularly held special events such as encampments and living history programs. For those who wish to get out and walk, there are about 2.5 miles of interpretive trails, that have a 1 mile loop along the southern bank of the Enoree River, along witha 1.2 mile trail through the battlefield north of the Enoree River.
