Sesquicentennial State Park
Overview
Nestled in the Sandhills region of Richland County, the 1419-acre Sesquicentennial State Park is famous for having a gorgeous 30-acre lake that is surrounded by trails and picnic areas for guests to enjoy. Here, there are endless chances to enjoy the great outdoors and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The park attracts both the locals and travelers who flock here because the park is easily accessible, as it is close to downtown Columbia and the local interstate highways. Nicknamed "Sesqui", the park is used frequently for family reunions and group campouts. Dog lovers can bring there canines to the dog park. Also, guests find the interpretive nature programs to be a favorite, as well as a dormitory, meeting facility and ropes course which is popular for team-building of all sorts. The park is also famous for being one of 16 state parks in South Carolina built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Great Depression during the 1930s.

Driving
From I-20: Take exit 74. Turn left onto Hwy 1 (Two Notch Rd.), travel N 3 mi, park will be on the right.
From I-77: Take exit 17. Go N. on Hwy 1 (Two Notch Rd.), for 2 mi. Park will be on the right. (turn left if traveling I-77 Southbound turn left onto Hwy 1; or turn right if traveling I-77 northbound)
