Overview

With almost 600 acres to explore and easy access to the Missouri River's Lake Francis Case for great fishing, Pease Creek Recreation Area has become a popular day use and camping park. The wooded terrain provides for both shaded campsites and hiking opportunities on the bluffs above Lake Francis Case. The area's hilly, wooded terrain provides a challenging excursion, whether on foot or on mountain bike. There is also a horse trail leading through wooded areas and offering views of the Missouri River.

Activities

  • Boating

    There are boat ramps on Lake Francis Case.

  • Bicycling

    Bicycles are welcome on the Pease Creek Trail, a three mile trail with interpretive signs along the way.

  • Camping

    There are 23 campsites and five horse camp sites, as well as camping cabins.

  • Fishing

    With a license, visitors can catch walleye, northern pike, bass, crappie, and catfish. The park has a fishing dock and a fish cleaning station.

  • Hiking

    Visitors can hike on the Pease Creek Trail, a three mile trail with rolling hills and several steep grades.

    Horseback riders can ride on the Pease Creek Trail, a three mile trail with rolling hills and several steep grades. There are five horse camp sites.

The park is open year-round. The Pease Creek Trail is good for hiking, biking, and horseback riding in warmer months, and for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
