Overview

For a day on the beachfront, Revheim Bay on Lake Oahe offers a great way to spend leisure time. Whether working up a sweat playing volleyball in the sand, winding down with a game of horseshoes, or relaxing while watching the sun set behind the large rolling hills, visitors are sure to find an activity that fits their pace.

Revheim Bay Recreation Area is a day-use park with four picnic shelters, a playground, an off-highway vehicle area, two sets of horseshoe pits, and a sand volleyball court. The park is a great place to hold a family reunion, company picnic, or just to spend the day lounging about. Revheim has 1.6 miles of hiking trail, which winds itself through the entire park. The trail offers many opportunities to view wildlife; it winds along the shelterbelts where the deer spend their afternoons to the banks of the Missouri River. There is a swimming beach but no lifeguard.

  • Fishing

    With a license, visitors can catch walleye, smallmouth bass, white bass, northern pike, and perch in Lake Oahe.

  • Hiking

    The Revheim Trail is a 1.6-mile trail that is fairly flat.

  • Off Highway Vehicles

    The park has an off-highway vehicle area. Check with the park office for more information.

  • Picnicking

    The picnic shelters range in size from large groups to small families and can be reserved up to ninety days in advance. The park is a great place to hold a family reunion, company picnic, or just to spend the day lounging about.

  • Water Sports

    There is a swimming beach but no lifeguard.

The park is open year-round, but most of the activities are suited to warm-weather use.
