Grant Grove Visitor Center
The Grant Grove Visitor Center lies at 6,589 feet along Highway 180 in Kings Canyon National Park. This is the original portion of the National Park created to protect two groves of sequoia trees. The visitor center houses exhibits on the natural and human history of the area. A ten-minute slide show on the grove is available for visitors periodically throughout each day. The site is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. A bookstore at the visitor center provides a variety of books and maps of the region. First aid is available at the ranger station, as well as wilderness permits for the area.
Directions from Big Stump Entrance: Travel northward on Highway 180 approximately 2.5 miles to Grant Grove Visitor Center.
