Thirteen cabins once stood on this site that President Herbert Hoover used for relaxation. Only three cabins remain today, and are still available to presidential aides. At this location, the convergence of the Hemlock Run Stream, Mill Prong Stream and Laurel Prong Stream create the Rapidan River. Trout still live in the deep pools and may be fished as long as artificial bait, a single hook and "catch and release" rules are strictly followed. This is a great please for a picnic lunch. No general public overnight use allowed.
