Compton Peak is 2 miles round-trip leading to exceptional views. The trail can be somewhat rocky and steep.

Directions
Directions from Front Royal, VA: Skyline Drive travels the entire length of Shenandoah National Park. Mile markers are placed along the right-hand side of the road heading south. They are numbered from north to south beginning at the northern terminus in Front Royal, Virginia. Facilities, trails and park features use the mile markers as points of reference. Trail is located at mile 10.4 beginning at .8 mile off the white-blazed Appalachian Trail. Park in Compton Gap parking area which is on the east side of the Drive.
