The round trip hike is approximately 2 miles in length. It leads to an old Episcopal Mission that was started around 1904 by a determined young minister. You will see stone steps, crumbling walls and a hard to find overgrown cemetery.

Directions from Front Royal, VA: Skyline Drive travels the entire length of Shenandoah National Park. Mile markers are placed along the right-hand side of the road heading south. They are numbered from north to south beginning at the northern terminus in Front Royal, Virginia. Facilities, trails and park features use the mile markers as points of reference. Park in the parking area approximately 50 yards down the fire road on the east side from mile 59.5. Begin on the fire road, going around the chain. The road crosses the Appalachian Trail. Continue straight for about 1 mile to an intersection where you will want to turn right onto Pocosin Mission Trail.
