Dolly's 2009 Homecoming Parade, featuring hometown favorite Dolly Parton as grand marshal along with marching bands, floats, twirlers and other parade units from several states. Dolly, born just outside the national park boundary, is a devoted promoter of the region's mountain culture and history.

The Wilderness Wildlife annual salute to the national park, which began in 1991, will kick off the anniversary celebrations. More than 100 volunteer experts offer nature photography shows and classes, lectures and demonstrations relating to the park's flora, fauna and social history. Hikes in the national park are another major component, and participants in the last Wilderness Wildlife Week tallied almost 5,000 trail miles.

Join over 180 craftspeople from around the country as they assemble to exhibit their historic trades at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. This is an event that consistently attracts the country's finest artists and craft people. One of the items that makes the Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair so unique is the fact that the artists not only make their art available for viewing and sale, but they also demonstrate their special talents and skills.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) this year. The Park will host a special day of commemorative activities.

During our 12th Annual Pigeon Forge Harvest Festival, you'll find delightful displays constructed from pumpkins, cornstalks, mums and other fall flowers. The Rotary Club Crafts Festival features dozens of talented artists who demonstrate their talents and sell their creations. And as always, there is sure to be plenty of music!
