The trail is located in the Chataloochee Area following rushing trout streams and an old homestead. The trail begins at elevation 2,400 feet climbs steadily then dips back to 2,400 feet at the old farm site. It climbs almost 1,000 feet to a poplar forest then descends once again to 2,400 feet at Caldwel Fork Trail. The trail is 7.5 mile long. It is recommended to travel this loop counterclockwise.

Directions from Waterville, NC: Take the twisty SR 32 south approximately 10 - 12 miles to the Chataloochee Campground. The road will fork and you will want to bear right.
