Forney Creek Trail is a lower creek trail that is considered strenuous. It connects the Fontana Lake to Clingman's Dome. The trail is 10 miles long with an elevation change of 4,000 feet. There are trout streams and primitive campsites along the route. A number of the streams are very difficult to cross, waterproof footwear is advised.
