The Hazel Creek Trail offers wonderful fishing opportunities in addition to the scenery and backcountry camping. The trail has an elevation change of approximately 3,200 feet within a 16.5 mile distance. The area has an interesting logging history being the site of an old sawmill and logging camp. The trail is part of the network of trails located north of Fontana Lake. If approaching from Welch Ridge, look closely for the trail markers.
