Overview

Snyder Lake was established as an easement refuge in 1941 by Executive Order. At that time 1,550 acres of flowage and refuge easements were obtained. A dam and spillway had been constructed by the Works Progress Administration for the Bureau of Biological Survey which impounded 1,776-acre feet.
