Here you can find a list of average high and low temperatures month-by-month in Acadia. June may still be a little chilly, however July will be warmer and beautiful! Don't forget to pack bug-repellant in June!

The best thing to do is to call Saguaro National Park's visitor information line for advice. You can reach them at (520) 733-5158.

Saguaro National Park's website gives the following safety advice about mountain lions: Also known as pumas or cougars, these large cats can be found in both districts of the park. Encounters are rare, but possible. To prevent an encounter- Do not hike or jog alone; keep children within site and close by; keep a clean camp or picnic site; do not feel wildlife (prey). Most lions avoid confrontation – so give the lion a way to escape. Stay calm and speak loudly and firmly. DO NOT RUN from a mountain lion, rather stand and face it. Make eye contact. Appear as large as you can: raise your arms and open your jacket. Throw stones or whatever you can reach without crouching or turning your back. Protect small children so they won’t panic and run. Finally, FIGHT BACK if you are attacked. Use whatever you have to defend yourself: rocks, sticks, caps, your bare hands. Try to remain standing and face the animal. Report any mountain lion sightings to a ranger.

There are beautiful roads throughout the park where road surfaces are smooth smooth, winding, with gorgeous canyons and cliffs all around you.  The popular part of the park, where most of the favored scenic spots are located, is the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive.

If you finish Zion Canyon and you are looking for more, try out the Kolob Terrace Road.  You will see fewer park visitors, cars, and the western side of the park- all to youself!  This road is much less frequented than Zion Canyon, and worth a good foray.  There will be a few steep climbs on this side; but where you go up, you will also come down!

There is not any mountain biking in the park.  If you wish to mountain bike in Utah, the area outside of Moab that is not National Park land will allow mountain biking, and is famous for it.  I know of no National Parks that allow mountain bikes off-road.

Most of the bus services we're familiar with leave SLC in the morning - around 10am.  You might be able to get a private trip to leave later in the day, depending on how many are in your party.

Here are a few links to check out and perhaps worth a call to check on your exact dates:
