Tom Jenkins Dam is located at Burr Oak Lake just 3.5 miles north of Glouster, Ohio off State Route 13 in Athens County. Tom Jenkins Dam was completed in 1950 for use as a flood control project on the East Branch of the Sunday Creek in the Hocking River Valley. The dam reduces flood impacts in the downstream areas of Glouster, Trimble, Jacksonville, Redtown, Chauncey, and Athens. Golden Age and Golden Access passports may be used for a 50% discount at U.S. Forest Service campgrounds, but not at Burr Oak State Campgrounds. Public restrooms are available in public use areas. These areas are closed during winter months.
