Overview

The Centennial Riverwalk Park commemorates the City of Ferndale's centennial year (2007) and also pays tribute to Ferndale's most prominent natural landmark, the Nooksack River, by providing a wide public passageway along its western bank. The decorative concrete pathway mirrors the water's ebb and flow, as educational signs provide information about the nearby river and native salmon species. Benches made from yellow cedar are scattered throughout the park and provide good opportunity to view the three impressive totems created by the House of Tears Carvers and installed at the Maple Street Park area.
