Watts Bar Lake
Overview
Watts Bar Lake is on the main Tennessee River in Loudon, Roane, Rhea, and Meigs counties. Nearby towns include Oak Ridge, Kingston, Spring City, Loudon, Lenoir City, and Rockwood. Knoxville is to the north and Chattanooga is to the south. The lake is 95 miles long with 771 miles of shoreline and a surface area of 39,000 acres. Smallmouth and largemouth bass and white bass are favorite among anglers on Watts Bar Lake. The reservoir is popular for boating, fishing, swimming, camping, and other outdoor activities. A scenic overlook near the dam provides visitors with a panoramic view of the reservoir and surrounding countryside.

With Watts Bar being such a long lake, there are many ways to access it. On I-40, take exit 347, go south on Highway 27, and watch for signs. On I-75, take exit 60 and go west 14 miles on Highway 68.
