Campgrounds at Yellowstone

Campsite availability is first-come, first-served at the following campgrounds: Mammoth, Norris, Indian Creek, Lewis Lake, Pebble Creek, Slough Creek, and Tower Fall. During peak camping season (late June to mid-August) campgrounds may fill. Arrive early to obtain a site.

Overnight camping of any type outside designated campgrounds is not permitted.

Most campgrounds have at least one wheelchair accessible site. The exceptions are Fishing Bridge RV Park, Pebble Creek, and Tower Fall. Details are provided in a free guide, Accessibility in Yellowstone, available at entrance gates and visitor centers.

Hookups are available at the concession-operated Fishing Bridge RV Park, including water, sewer, and 50 amp electrical service. The RV Park is restricted to hard-sided camping units. Tents and tent trailers are not allowed. There are no picnic tables or fire grates.

Generator use is permitted only at Mammoth, Norris, Madison, Canyon, Bridge Bay, Grant Village, and Fishing Bridge RV Park, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Showers and laundry facilities are located adjacent to the campgrounds at Canyon and Grant Village. Fishing Bridge RV Park has showers and laundry. It is located within four miles of the Bridge Bay campground. Cost of showers and laundry are not included in camping fee, unless noted otherwise.

Camping is limited to 14 days between July 1 and Labor Day (first Monday in September) and 30 days the rest of the year. There is no limit at Fishing Bridge RV Park.

Group tent camping is available at Madison, Grant, and Bridge Bay for organized groups with a designated leader such as youth or educational groups. Fees range from $105 to $305 (plus tax and utility fee) per night, depending on group size. Reservations are required through Xanterra.

Senior and Access Passes receive a 50 percent discount on camping fees, except at Fishing Bridge RV Park.

Campground Regulations
--Food, beverages, cooking utensils, and ice chests may not be left outside, in tents, or in tent trailers at any time unless they are in immediate use. This rule applies even if items are brand new, clean, or empty.
--All wash, rise, and drain water must be collected in a container. Dispose of it in flush or vault toilets or dishwashing sinks, where available.
--All wheeled vehicles, such as motorcycles, tent trailers, and cars, must remain on pavement.
--Cleaning fish, bathing, or washing clothes is prohibited at campground water faucets.
--Fires may be built only in designated fire pits and must be fully extinguished when unattended.
--All pets must be on a leash, not to exceed six feet in length, or otherwise physically restrained at all times. Pets may not be left tied or unattended in the campgrounds. They are prohibited in the backcountry and on established trails and boardwalks.
--The use or possession of fireworks is prohibited.
--Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Generators, where allowed, may operate 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. only.
