Yellowstone is the world's first national park and one of the largest in the contiguous United States. Sprawling across volcanic plateaus in the northwest corner of Wyoming, Yellowstone contains more than 2 million acres of steaming geysers, crystalline lakes, thundering waterfalls and panoramic vistas.
Home to a remarkable diversity of mammals, birds and fish, it's one of the world's foremost wildlife sanctuaries. Here, every season brings special wonders and each of the park's five regions or "countries" offers you its own exciting experiences.
The National Park Service (NPS) protects this unique resource (which includes six National Historic Landmarks) and its visitors. The NPS and concessioners including Xanterra Parks & Resorts®, work together to ensure that your visit to Yellowstone is a memorable one.
This American Park Network guide to Yellowstone National Park is provided by Xanterra Parks & Resorts® to enhance your appreciation and enjoyment of this magnificent park. It is made possible by the support of sponsors whose messages appear inside.
Please respect the park and minimize your impact so that Yellowstone's natural resources will be protected and preserved for future generations. Enjoy your visit and please come back!
