Halloween at Yosemite National Park

October 16, 2009, 11:56 am
Stop by Yosemite National Park on Halloween weekend for spooky crafts, creepy critters, and hikes under the stars!

On Friday, October 30, join the Halloween History Stroll for a walk through the Yosemite Cemetery. A short walk among the headstones will help piece together the story of some of the cemetery residents! Meet in front of the Valley Visitor Center with flashlights for this family friendly (not scary) event.

On Saturday, October 31, join Yosemite interpretive rangers for a night of super-natural fun for the whole family! Stop by the Happy Isles Nature Center for Halloween Family Night. The Nature Center designed a trail lined with glowing pumpkins to lead your family to ghastly fun waiting inside. Under the watchful eye of the park’s finest (no they aren’t dressed up that way just for the holiday) you can learn more about Yosemite’s nocturnal creatures, including spiders, scorpions, bats and owls (oh my)! The fun continues outside with a short night walk and some holiday treats and hot drinks. Don’t forget to bring an extra layer of clothing for cooler temps and a flashlight (to keep away the ghosts)!
