Young Lakes consists of three lakes (Upper Young Lake, Middle Young Lake, and Lower Young Lake) in Yosemite National Park. The lakes are located southeast of Ragged Peak and 11.5 miles west of Lee Vining. The lakes lie in a sub-alpine setting at an elevation of 9,993 feet. Named for General S M B Young (1840-1924), Acting Superintendent of Yosemite National Park in 1896, and a veteran of the Civil and Spanish American Wars.
